Lease or finance
your Audi
There’s no wrong answer, just the one that fits how you drive. Here’s how to tell which is right for you in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Lease if you like a newer Audi every few years. Finance if you want to make it yours.
A typical lease is three years and 36,000 miles, so it stays inside the four-year, fifty-thousand-mile factory warranty. On 2026 and newer cars, scheduled maintenance is included for 3 years or 30,000 miles — so almost every maintenance trip on that lease is covered, except maybe one or two. Finance if you want to make it yours: you own it, there’s no mileage cap, and you’re comfortable keeping the car after the factory warranty. Every protection product is optional.
Your lease comes with its maintenance covered
Audi Signature Care covers scheduled maintenance for the first 3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first, at any authorized Audi dealer. On a typical 3-year, 36,000-mile lease, that covers your routine service through the duration of the lease. If you buy and plan to keep your Audi longer, ask us about Audi Care Select.
Keep your cash doing what it does best
A new Audi doesn’t have to mean draining your savings. Leasing or financing lets you spread the cost out so your money stays where you want it — working for you, not parked in the driveway. Plenty of our Baton Rouge, Louisiana neighbors choose this route for exactly that reason. It’s not about having the cash; it’s about keeping your options open.
- Keep savings liquid for the things life throws at you — planned or not.
- Free up room in the budget for vacations, investments, or that project you’ve been putting off.

How leasing and financing compare
| Lease | Finance | |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns it | The leasing company, during the term | You |
| Factory warranty | A 36–48 month lease with modest miles usually stays inside 4 years / 50,000 miles | Year 5, or after 50,000 miles, is on you unless you add a vehicle service contract |
| Scheduled maintenance | Included 3 years / 30,000 miles on 2026 and newer | After that, scheduled service is on you |
| Roadside help | 4 years | Ends after year 4 |
| Miles | Up to 15,000 miles allowed in a lease | Unlimited |
| When you’re done | An independent inspection, and possibly wear and mileage charges and a turn-in fee | None of that |
| Louisiana tax | On the payments, plus possible personal property tax on the lease | On the purchase price minus trade-in and rebate, where the car lives |
The federal electric vehicle tax credit ended September 30, 2025, so it doesn’t apply to an Audi you buy or lease today. Audi USA

You pay tax on the payments, not the whole car.
Louisiana taxes lease payments, not the whole sticker. When you buy, tax follows where the car lives. We will run the numbers on your deal.
A simple example (your numbers will differ)
Here’s the basic idea behind a lease payment: take the value the car loses while you drive it, and divide by the months. If that’s $12,000 over 36 months, that part of your payment is $333 a month, before finance charges and tax. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

FAQ
There’s no wrong answer, just the one that fits how you drive. Here’s how to tell which is right for you in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Lease if you want a newer Audi for a set time and miles, usually still inside the 4-year/50,000-mile factory warranty. Finance if you want to make it yours, with no mileage cap, and no inspection when you’re done. Consumer Reports’ rule of thumb: if you plan to keep a car six years or more, buying is almost always the better money.
How many miles can I drive on an Audi lease?
Up to 15,000 miles are allowed in a typical Audi lease. A higher limit costs more each month. Some customers can buy extra miles at the halfway point. Your contract has the final number.
Who handles Audi leases and loans now?
Leases are with Audi Financial Services. Purchase loans started on or after May 1, 2025 go through Audi Retail Finance, powered by Wells Fargo. If you want to buy the car or look at other loan options, Audi Baton Rouge can help you explore refinancing with a number of financial institutions.
How is an Audi lease taxed in Louisiana?
Louisiana taxes the lease payments, not the full price of the car. Local rates depend on where the car lives. The leasing company may also be billed a personal property tax, which can be added to your payment.
Can I buy my leased Audi?
Yes, at any time. Ask for a payoff quote in the myAudi app. If you buy it, you skip the turn-in fee and you won’t be billed for extra wear or extra miles.
What happens when the lease ends?
You can trade up to a new Audi, extend, buy the car, or return it. Audi sends an independent inspector to look at the car before you return it.
